What will I learn in CTT+ class?

The CTT+ is not just for technical trainers, it is for ALL instructors who want to gain instructional expertise. This outstanding CTT+ workshop features hands-on learning that will benefit both seasoned and novice trainers. Participants will lead group instruction and learn to accelerate and manage the learning environment of their own classrooms.

Participants will prepare for the two CompTIA exams. This seminar includes videotaping of your individual CTT+ presentation to submit to the CompTIA judges. Our students pass their video exams or you may re-sit the class for free. Our video exam pass rate is 99.9%!

Prior to Day 1: Pre-Class Learning

Prior to class you will receive the Pre-Class Learning Kit (PLK) with course critical samples and documents. Your pre-class assignment will help you quickly assimilate the materials presented during your workshop and prepare for the 20-minute video presentation. This pre-class assignment will allow you to engage more fully in hands-on during the workshop. Your instructor will conduct a 30-minute telephone interview with you to assess needs and goals. With the help of your Master instructor you will develop your own personalized video presentation.

Day 1: Principles of Adult Learning

This highly interactive three-day workshop is an intense learning experience that will benefit both experienced and novice trainers. The first day will build the foundation for the principles of adult-learning and how to apply these in the classroom. We will address the CTT+ core competencies that you will be tested on in the CTT+ video.

Day 2: CTT+ Presentation Techniques

You will learn classroom decorum and presentation techniques i.e., how to build instructor credibility and confidence, how to manage a difficult classroom, how to create a collaborative vs. competitive environment, how to build student confidence, how to open and end a class, and more key facilitation techniques. As a group, we will discuss and demonstrate train-the-trainer requirements. In the afternoon we will begin rehearsing and recording your video presentation. The entire class will support this effort in a non-judgmental learning environment. You will give and receive constructive feedback on your performance and receive one-on-one coaching from the instructor.

Day 3: CTT+ Video Presentation

You will master the theories and techniques of adult learning as defined by the CTT+ certification and demonstrate these principles in your instructional video. As a collaborative team you will rehearse your train-the-trainer skills for real world training and video performance. The entire class will help you hone your skills and make this your best presentation. The course will end with a module on how to accelerate knowledge-transfer and student-learning.
